About Poels

A rich history

The foundations of Poels date back to 1943. Leonardus Poels, still mayor at the time, establishes a general construction company in that year. In 1975, his son, Romain Poels, took over. He put the company on the map in the 80s and 90s as one of the largest plastering companies in Belgium.

During that period, Poels focused mainly on plaster and screed works for the government and main contractors. Later, the company expanded its expertise further with, among other things, plasterboard walls and ceilings. From the start, Poels has always remained true to a B2B market approach.

Under the leadership of Sandra Poels and David Saenen, Poels has grown since 2013 into a specialist in public tenders and framework contracts. As the company is active throughout Flanders, the need arose to open a second location. Poels West was therefore established in 2020, with a location near Bruges. In 2024, a strategic partnership was formed with ABN Cleanroom Technology and ABN Labs, further expanding our activities within laboratories and cleanrooms.

Our flat organisational structure ensures short communication lines and efficient work processes, while decades-long collaboration with suppliers ensures continuity and reliability.

Sustainability and innovation are in Poels’ DNA. We use sustainable and circular materials and continue to invest in optimising our machinery and vehicle fleet. In our own joinery, we produce bespoke furniture and interior joinery.
